# Storage Decentralization Node

#### **Step 1: Download and Run the Installer** <a href="#sswbl5uu62k" id="sswbl5uu62k"></a>

1. Download the Storage Decentralization Node software from here : <https://www.frynetworks.com/fry-infastructure-node-downloads>
2. Locate the `FRYStorageDecentralizationNodeInstaller.zip` in your downloads folder (or wherever you saved it) and extract it.&#x20;
3. Open the new extracted folder and double-click on `FRYStorageDecentralizationNodeInstaller.exe`  to start the installation process.
4. If prompted by **Microsoft Defender or User Account Control (UAC)**, click **Yes** to proceed.

#### **Step 2: Confirm Installation Settings** <a href="#uaalma8c9aeh" id="uaalma8c9aeh"></a>

1. Once the installer starts, follow the prompts on the screen.
2. Review the default settings for installation. The installation path is predefined and cannot be edited.
3. Click **Next** to proceed.

#### **Step 3: Install Node.js** <a href="#kfcvmrz6f98e" id="kfcvmrz6f98e"></a>

1. During the setup, the **Node.js Installer** will appear.
2. Follow the prompts to install Node.js. This is required for the Fry Storage Decentralization Node software to function.
3. Accept the terms and conditions, and click **Next**.
4. Allow the installer to proceed and complete the Node.js installation.

**Step 4: Configure Node.js Installation**

1. On the **Node.js Setup Wizard**, choose the default settings (recommended) or customize them if needed.
2. Ensure the necessary components are selected for the Fry Storage Decentralization Node software to run smoothly.
3. Click **Next** to continue.

#### **Step 5: Skip Optional Tools Installation** <a href="#y67g375selas" id="y67g375selas"></a>

* During the Node.js installation, you will see a prompt asking if you want to install additional tools (e.g., automatically installing necessary tools).&#x20;
* Leave this option **unchecked** as it is not required for the Fry Storage Decentralization Node software and would take additional time.
* Click **Next** to proceed.

#### **Step 6: Complete Node.js Installation** <a href="#m7f3qdomavkh" id="m7f3qdomavkh"></a>

1. Once Node.js is installed successfully, you will see a confirmation screen.
2. Click **Finish** to close the Node.js installer.
3. Node.js is now ready for use with the Fry Storage Decentralization Node software.

#### **Step 7: Restart Required** <a href="#iz2o2q6837wj" id="iz2o2q6837wj"></a>

1. After completing the Node.js installation, a prompt will appear asking you to **sign out** to complete the configuration. Make sure to save anything you have open.&#x20;
2. Click **OK** to sign out of your user account.
3. **Important**: After signing out, sign back in to your Windows account.
4. Once signed back in, relaunch the **Fry Storage Decentralization Node Installer** to continue the installation process.

#### **Step 8: Continue Fry SDN Installation** <a href="#of4nbyf5u8iw" id="of4nbyf5u8iw"></a>

1. After signing back in, relaunch the **Fry Storage Decentralization Node Installer**.
2. Click **Next** and follow the on-screen prompts to proceed with the installation.
3. The installer may verify configurations and dependencies before continuing.

* At the bottom, you will see a confirmation: **"Fry Storage Decentralization Node Installation Completed!"**
* Click **Next** to proceed.&#x20;

#### **Step 9: Enter Secret Phrase** <a href="#jqn3rpk1c9h9" id="jqn3rpk1c9h9"></a>

1. A prompt will appear asking you to enter your **Secret Phrase**.
2. Carefully type your 25-word Passphrase. [Locating Account Passphrase](https://docs.frynetworks.com/docs/devices/bandwidth-satellite-decibel-mini-pc-device/troubleshooting/how-to-locate-your-algorand-account-phrase-in-pera)\
   **Important**: Ensure that each word is separated by **exactly one space** (no commas, extra spaces, or other characters).

1. Double-check the entered phrase for accuracy to avoid errors.
2. Click **OK** to proceed.&#x20;

#### **Step 10: Enter Device Key** <a href="#nk2gwamvyjf8" id="nk2gwamvyjf8"></a>

1. A prompt will appear asking you to **enter your Device key**.
2. Enter your **Storage Decentralization Node Device Key** in the format SDN-XXXXXX....\
   **Important**: Ensure that the key starts with **"SDN"** and matches your actual miner key.

***Recommended**: Copy and paste your device key directly to avoid mistakes or typos.*

#### **Complete Fry SDN Installation** <a href="#ddeywv1acn9r" id="ddeywv1acn9r"></a>

* Once the installation is complete, you will see the **Setup Wizard Completion Screen**.
* The message will confirm that the Fry Storage Decentralization Node Installer has been successfully installed on your computer.
* Click **Finish** to exit the installer and complete the setup process.
