Conversion from FRY 1.0 -> FRY 2.0 or FNODE - FAQs
1. Difference Between fNODE and FRY 2.0
FRY 2.0 is the primary governance token for Fry Networks, replacing FRY 1.0. It introduces a segmented token structure, where each network function has a specialized token.
fNODE specifically supports infrastructure nodes that provide decentralized storage and network stability.
Both tokens are not generated directly through device activity; they're obtained through approved conversions, scheduled allocations, or vesting.
2. Overview of the New Token Model
Fry Networks now uses a segmented token structure, clearly assigning a distinct token to each technical network function:
fVPN: Bandwidth (decentralized VPN)
fGNSS: Satellite (GNSS signals)
fRAD: Radiation detection
fKWH: Energy monitoring
fDB: Decibel/noise monitoring
fH2O: Water quality sensors
fCAM: Visual data (camera devices)
fAIR: Air quality sensors
fWX: Weather monitoring
Additional segments may be added based on new device types and operational functions.
3. FRY 1.0 Conversion Process

Vesting Schedule:

4. tFRY and Future Conversions
tFRY (Test FRY) integration is nearing completion.
Post-snapshot FRY 1.0 tokens may convert to tFRY pending community approval.
tFRY will become the interim token for segments not yet monetized, convertible later to segment-specific tokens.

5. Post-Snapshot FRY 1.0 Clarification
Only FRY 1.0 balances at the snapshot (Dec 1, 2024) can directly convert to FRY 2.0 or fNODE.
Post-snapshot FRY 1.0 eligibility for conversion to tFRY will require community approval via an upcoming Fry Improvement Proposal (FIP).
6. Network Participation after August 1st, 2025
Devices will initially continue receiving FRY 1.0 tokens, transitioning to tFRY, and eventually to their segment-specific tokens once segments become monetized.

No other sites or addresses. Avoid unofficial communications.
8. Dashboard Conversion Availability
Conversion buttons activate on August 1st, 2025, at 00:00 UTC. Until then, balances and eligibility are viewable, but conversion functionality remains inactive.
9. Upgrading Devices to FRY 2.0
No physical upgrade fees or manual hardware updates required. Devices will automatically integrate into the new token structure.
Continue receiving FRY 1.0 or subsequent approved tokens based on segment operational status.
Conversion eligibility strictly tied to snapshot balances.
Monitor official updates; no physical or software action currently required.
