Conversion FAQs
Conversion from FRY 1.0 -> FRY 2.0 or FNODE - FAQs
1. What is the difference between fNODE and FRY 2.0?
FRY 2.0 is the main governance token for the Fry Networks ecosystem. It replaces FRY 1.0 and introduces a segmented token model: different tokens represent different types of mining or network activity.
fNODE is a separate, specialized token for infrastructure node operators that contribute to the network’s backbone and security.
Both are not mineable—they are obtained through conversion, vesting, or allocation, not through mining activities.
2. What is the new Fry Networks token model?
Fry Networks has moved from a single-token system (FRY 1.0) to a segmented token model. Each major mining or network function will have its own dedicated token, improving clarity and aligning rewards with contribution type.
Planned segmented tokens include:
fVPN: Bandwidth miners (decentralized VPN)
fGNSS: Satellite miners (GNSS signal/data)
fRAD: Radiation miners
fKWH: Energy miners (power/consumption)
fDB: Decibel miners (noise/sound data)
fH2O: Water miners (water quality/sensors)
fCAM: Camera miners (visual data)
fAIR: Air quality miners
fWX: Weather miners (meteorological data)
Additional tokens may be added in the future as new miner types are introduced, but these are the primary segments currently planned.
Each miner type will eventually earn its corresponding segmented token (not FRY 2.0 directly), replacing direct FRY 1.0 mining as the ecosystem transitions.
3. FRY 1.0 Conversion: Where, When, and How?
Where do I send FRY 1.0 for conversion?
Nowhere manually. You initiate conversion ONLY through the Fry Dashboard: https://dashboard.frynetworks.com/
There are no other official links or dApps. Ignore DMs and beware of scams.
When does conversion open?
Conversion and claiming starts August 1st, 2025, 00:00 UTC.
The conversion button/claim button will appear on the dashboard at that time. Until then, you can only check your balance and eligibility.
What is the snapshot date/block?
Snapshot was taken:
Date: December 1st, 2024, at 00:00 UTC
Algorand Block: #44866969
Asset: FRY 1.0 (ASA ID: 924268058)
Who is eligible for conversion?
Included:
Wallets with FRY 1.0 at snapshot
Locked for miner verification
Locked in official Cometa staking/farming contracts
Locked in Tinyman LP-farming (any Fry pool)
Excluded:
Any FRY 1.0 withdrawn before snapshot
FRY 1.0 received after snapshot
Other tokens, rewards, or fees not related to snapshot
What are my conversion options and rates?
You must convert the full eligible FRY 1.0 amount in one transaction.
Two options:
FRY 2.0 (ASA ID: 2485314946) at 80:1
Example: 80,000 FRY 1.0 = 1,000 FRY 2.0
fNODE (ASA ID: 2485202024) at 40:1
Example: 80,000 FRY 1.0 = 2,000 fNODE
How does vesting work?
12-month linear vesting starting from dApp release (August 1st, 2025).
1/12th unlocks each month.
Claim monthly, quarterly, or all at once at end of vesting period.
Vesting/claim window closes after 13 months—do not miss your window.
What is the conversion/burn address?
FRY 1.0 sent for conversion is automatically burned. Do not send tokens manually—the dApp handles the process. Burn address is managed by the dashboard.
Can I see my conversion/claim history?
Yes. The dashboard shows:
Amount claimed
Token type (FRY 2.0 or fNODE)
Claim date
4. tFRY status and future conversions
tFRY ("test FRY") is moving forward (per FIP-008, community approved).
Tech integration is nearly finished; post-snapshot FRY 1.0 rewards will soon be convertible to tFRY.
tFRY will become the interim mining reward for unmonetized miners, then be swappable for segmented tokens when those are ready.
Official dates and process will be announced on the Fry Networks Discord Account and X account.
5. Are FRY 1.0 rewards earned after the Dec 1, 2024 snapshot eligible for conversion? (tFRY clarification)
No. Only balances recorded at the snapshot (Dec 1, 2024, 00:00 UTC, Block #44866969) are eligible for direct conversion to FRY 2.0 or fNODE. However, the Fry Networks team plans to present a FIP (Fry Improvement Proposal) to the community for discussion and approval. If the proposal passes, FRY 1.0 earned after the snapshot will be convertible to a new transitional token called tFRY. This is not finalized—details, eligibility, and process will be determined through the FIP and community governance.
More details and voting will be announced on the official discord and X account.
Until then, post-snapshot FRY 1.0 can not be burned for FRY 2.0 or fNODE.
6. What will miners mine after August 1st, 2025?
Miners will continue earning FRY 1.0 and, once available, tFRY.
When each miner type gets monetized, their rewards will shift to segmented tokens (fVPN, fGNSS, fRAD, etc.), replacing FRY 1.0 over time.
tFRY and segmented tokens are not yet live for conversion but will be supported soon. Stay updated via official channels.
7. Where is the conversion dApp?
Conversion is only on the Fry Dashboard: https://dashboard.frynetworks.com/
There are no other sites, no direct burn address.
Ignore DMs or unofficial links.
8. I don’t see the convert/claim button on the dashboard.
You will not see the convert button until August 1st, 12:00am UTC.
Until then, you can verify your FRY 1.0 balance and eligibility, but cannot convert or claim.
9. I have Satellite Miners (or other Fry miners) running Fry 1.0. What do I need to do to upgrade to Fry 2.0? Is there a cost?
No upgrade fee for your hardware miners—no paid upgrade is required for any miner type (satellite, bandwidth, IoT, environmental, etc.).
For rewards:
You will continue to earn FRY 1.0 and, when available, potentially tFRY or your miner’s future segmented token, depending on network rollout.
Conversion eligibility to FRY 2.0 or fNODE is based solely on your FRY 1.0 balance at the Dec 1st, 2024 snapshot.
To participate in future conversions, hold rewards in your wallet, staking, or approved pools at the time of the next announced snapshot (if any).
No action is required for your physical hardware or BYOD. Just follow official announcements for upcoming network changes.

13. Additional FAQs
Q: I missed the snapshot, am I eligible for conversion? A: No. Only wallets/pools with FRY 1.0 at Dec 1, 2024, 00:00 UTC snapshot are eligible.
Q: Where can I track my claims, vesting, or token balances? A: All tracking is on the dashboard. No other platform is supported.
Q: Can I withdraw from Cometa or other staking platforms? A: Yes, withdrawals are open as Cometa is phased out. Future staking/farming will move to new contracts.
Q: When will segmented miner tokens go live? A: Deployment is phased. Watch the Discord and X account and docs for launch of each miner-specific token.
Q: Can I swap between fNODE and FRY 2.0 after conversion? A: You can swap fNODE for FRY 2.0 and vice versa at any time on supported decentralized exchanges (DEXs) or via wallets like Pera Wallet, as long as there is available liquidity. The Fry Networks protocol does not directly prevent post-conversion swaps between fNODE and FRY 2.0. However, swaps are subject to market rates and liquidity on Algorand-based DEXs, not a fixed protocol rate.
