BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) Onboarding

Follow these steps to onboard your own device (BYOD) for mining or data contribution on Fry Networks.

BYOD License Costs

The cost of a BYOD license is $105 USD (paid 100% in Fry v2 tokens).

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Set Up an Algorand Wallet

  • If you don’t already have an Algorand wallet, set one up using the Pera Wallet or Defly Wallet.

Step 2: Fund Your Wallet

  • Transfer at least $105 USD worth of Algo into your wallet (from an exchange or another wallet).

Tip: Transfer an extra dollar or two to avoid errors or issues during transactions.

Step 3: Opt-In to Fry v2 Token - ASA 2485314946

  • Open your wallet and opt-in to the Fry token.

Step 4: Swap Algo for Fry Tokens

  • Within your wallet (e.g., Pera Wallet), swap your Algo to Fry v2 tokens.

  • Leave 10 Algo in your wallet to cover future transaction fees.

Step 5: Purchase a BYOD License

  • Visit the BYOD License Portal to purchase your license.

  • Once the purchase is complete, you will receive a license number via email.

Device Requirements

Bandwidth, Decibel, Satellite Miners

You can use your own PC or laptop for mining. The requirements are:

  • Windows 10/11 Home or Pro

  • 4GB RAM

  • 1GB Free Disk Space

Note: The device must remain powered on and connected to the internet 24/7.

Steps to Set Up Mining Software

Step 1: Download and Install the Desired Mining Software:

Step 2: Install and Configure the Software

  • Follow the installation prompts carefully.

  • During setup, you will be asked to input the 25-word seed phrase from your Algorand wallet. This wallet will be used strictly to send proof of connectivity. Locating wallet Passphrase

Tip: It is highly recommended to create a fresh wallet specifically for mining purposes. (Future updates will remove this feature so that you don't have to enter your passphrase anywhere anymore)

Step 3: Register Your Miner:

  • Once installation is complete, visit the Fry Networks Dashboard to :

    • Convert your BYOD license to miner keys.

    • Register your miner and start earning.

Power Settings

Ensure your computer’s power settings are configured to never sleep mode.

Do not power off your device if you want to keep receiving rewards.
