AI Node Miner — FAQ (v1, August 2025)
General Overview
Q: What is the AI Node Miner?
A: The AI Node Miner is Fry’s newest innovation, built in collaboration with Olostep. It brings decentralized AI compute to the edge, creating a new revenue stream for Fry Networks and real utility for $fNODE.
Q: Is this mandatory for all node operators?
A: No. Running an AI Node Miner is completely optional. You can continue operating your existing miners as before.
Q: Why is this important?
A: This is Fry’s first major data partnership and sale. Revenue from this collaboration funds continuous market-buys of $fNODE while the launch window adds an extra temporary boost in earnings. It also opens up a new frontier for Fry: monetizing decentralized AI compute at scale.
Launch Details
Q: When is the launch window?
A: August 15 → September 22, 2025 (11:59 PM CDT).
Q: What’s the launch price?
A: $249 (End-of-Summer Special).
Q: Will the price change later?
A: Yes. Prices will increase in phases after the launch window closes.
Q: How fast do units ship?
A: Shipping is 3–7 business days (allow up to 4 weeks during peak demand).
Earnings & Funding
Q: How much does an AI Node Miner earn?
A: During the launch window:
Unverified: 990 fNODE/day
1.5× Verified: 1,485 fNODE/day
3× Verified: 2,970 fNODE/day (~$1/day at current price)
Q: How are these rewards funded?
A: Two layers:
Ongoing market-buys of $fNODE fueled by Fry’s data partnership with Olostep (continues beyond Sept 22).
Temporary launch boost (ends Sept 22), funded by AI Node Miner sales + partnership payments.
For Existing Node Operators
Q: Do existing node operators get anything?
A: Yes! 🎁 All current verified node operators will receive a FREE BYOD AI Node Miner license.
Q: What does BYOD mean?
A: Bring Your Own Device. You’ll run the AI Node Miner license on your current node hardware or your own PC.
Q: Do BYOD licenses earn the same as purchased devices?
A: Yes. BYOD AI Node Miners earn at the same daily rates as hardware AI Node Miners.
Q: How will licenses be distributed?
A: Distribution is being finalized now and will be shared during the AI Node Miner AMA later this week.
Hardware & Technicals
Q: What kind of hardware is shipped?
A: AI Node Miners ship as compact mini-PC units. Ports vary — most ship with HDMI, though some may have VGA/DVI.
Q: What about running BYOD? What specs are needed?
A: Final specs will be published soon. Expect lightweight requirements (the same or lower than existing Fry node hardware).
Q: Can I move the miner software to my own better PC?
A: Yes. The key requirement is uptime. Hardware is flexible, especially with BYOD licenses.
Olostep Partnership
Q: Who is Olostep and what do they do?
A: Olostep provides data for AI training and inference. AI requires high-quality, specialized data at scale, and Olostep’s demand creates a direct market for Fry’s decentralized AI compute.
Q: How does this help Fry long-term?
A: Olostep partnership revenue funds continuous $fNODE market-buys and establishes Fry as a data + compute provider for AI agents, paving the way for more partnerships.
